Cinemax Film Workshops

Slawomir Idziak's
„Hunting the Viewer”

While working with films, we are working in an “Emotion Factory”. Our movies, stories that we translate onto the silver screen, exist only if the viewer experiences them emotionally. When emotions disappear from cinema, the film reality that we build vanishes together with them. The viewer simply walks out of the theater or swiyches the television channel.

The workshops are designed as much for active filmmakers as for  those who only make their first steps in the art of filmmaking. The aim of the workshops, that last for four days, is to practice film work and analyze the individual stages of film shooting, from working with a script, to editing. All those efforts are necessary so that the viewer never leaves us. Working on a set will take place without any cameras or technology.

Participants of the workshops will work with fragments of Krzysztof Kieslowski’s script for “The Double Life of Veronique”. After a joint analysis of the script, the participants will start working in groups. With the help of actors, they will stage the most important scenes of the film. We will be able to make a whole new “Veronique” in the same locations in which Kieslowski’s film was made 20 years ago.

Maybe you will succeed in doing a better version of “The Double Life of Veronique 2010”! It is worth trying.

I sincerely invite you to attend the workshops.
